IT Asset Management Specialist
Job Summary
The Junior IT Asset Management Specialist will focus on the day-to-day operations of IT asset management, including handling hardware-related support tickets, maintaining accurate inventory, and managing recycling and disposal processes. This role plays a part in ensuring smooth IT operations, supporting hardware requests, and contributing to sustainability efforts through effective asset lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-Day Operations and Ticket Handling
- Respond to and resolve support tickets related to hardware requests, deployments, and replacements.
- Ensure timely delivery of hardware to employees and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of ticket resolution and escalate complex issues to the IT Asset Manager.
- Inventory Control
- Monitor and maintain the IT asset inventory, ensuring records are up to date and accurate.
- Conduct regular audits of hardware inventory to prevent discrepancies and track usage.
- Assist with stocking, organizing, and labeling IT assets to streamline inventory management.
- Recycling and Disposal Efforts
- Manage the recycling and disposal of decommissioned IT assets in alignment with organizational policies and sustainability goals.
- Coordinate with vendors or recycling partners for secure and compliant disposal.
- Track and report on recycling efforts and asset disposal processes to support environmental compliance.
- Hardware Deployment and Replacement
- Support the setup, configuration, and deployment of IT hardware for employees.
- Ensure seamless onboarding and offboarding by preparing and recovering IT assets.
- Coordinate hardware replacement schedules to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience or familiarity with IT asset management or IT support operations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Basic knowledge of asset management systems and tools is preferred.
- Proficiency in handling support ticket systems and maintaining detailed documentation.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in inventory management.
Additional Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Certification in IT Asset Management or ITIL Foundation is a plus but not required.
