Employee Spotlight: Roderick Jackson, Technical Delivery Manager
Nov 30, 2020 • 2 minHere at RELEX, we build outstanding software that creates measurable value for our retail customers. As smart as our AI-driven software is, though, it is nothing without the bright minds behind it. In Employee Spotlights, we want to introduce RELEXians who create the solutions to solve our customers’ problems and, while doing that, make the world more sustainable bit by bit.
In this Employee Spotlight, it’s time to meet our Technical Delivery Manager Roderick Jackson!
How long have you worked at RELEX, and what do you do here?
I work as a manager in our US technical delivery department. I’ve been with RELEX for almost 2 years.
What do you enjoy most about working at RELEX?
RELEX presents and sticks to a culture of value out, not time in. Since we don’t adhere to the 9-5 mentality, it allows me work flexibly during periods I feel I’m most productive.
What is the most important thing you’ve learned at RELEX?
The most important thing RELEX has taught me is that you don’t have to take things too seriously. Part of being human comes with swings in motivation and fulfilment and that’s okay. You don’t always have to run at 100% and never make mistakes. You judge yourself the hardest and co-workers at RELEX are always there to support you.
What is your favorite RELEX value, and why?
My favorite RELEX value is “Customer is a friend”. My experience working with and for other software companies has been very much “them” and “us”, which makes for a much less productive work environment. Knowing one of my company’s values seeks to put collaboration and transparency at the forefront of our client partnership means we have a stronger and more meaningful partnership.
What advice would you give others interested in working at RELEX?
Ask questions and get to know us. If you’re hesitating to make a leap or don’t know if it’s right for you, reach out to someone on LinkedIn or ask our recruiters. We’re here, transparent and love working with inquisitive people.
