Our Finance Team
As a Tax Controller you will join our tax team as the second member, working closely with the broader Financial Control & Operations team with more than 30 people managing RELEX’s global finances. You will manage and enhance RELEX’s global tax compliance and processes around various tax types and stakeholders. You report to and get supported by the RELEX Head of Tax. You will also help us navigate and overcome diverse tax challenges faced by a truly global, fast-growing business.
Join us as a Tax Controller and this is some of what you’ll be doing:
- Manage and Enhance Transfer Pricing (TP) Model & Compliance: Oversee TP framework, ensure regulatory compliance, monitor internal invoicing, process data, guide stakeholders, and maintain documentation.
- Supervise and Develop Tax Compliance at Group Level: Enhance tax compliance processes, oversee tax reporting and provision calculations, streamline reporting, and manage e.g. tax registrations.
- Optimize Group Tax Processes: Coordinate and improve processes for various tax streams, manage tax data for double taxation elimination, oversee VAT reclaims, and support tax incentive applications.
- Support Tax Audits & Administrative Procedures: Assist in tax audits and administrative procedures, ensuring compliance and effective communication with tax authorities.
- Develop and Manage Tax-Related Data & Processes: Improve efficiency and accuracy of tax data management, contributing to process streamlining and reporting enhancements.
Depending on your experience and interests, you can also focus on the following areas:
- Deliver Taxation Insights for Business & Leadership Decision-Making: Prepare tax analyses and reports to support strategy and planning.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in Key Tax Areas: Provide expert guidance on specific tax topics, ensuring compliance and best practices.
- Provide Strategic Tax Support to Business Functions: Act as a tax advisor to internal stakeholders, assist in customer negotiations and ensure compliance.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Suitable education, e.g. a degree in accounting, finance or taxation
- You have experience in tax controlling, tax accounting, and/or tax advisory and want to further develop as a Tax Controller/Tax Specialist.
- You have a solid understanding of taxation and accounting processes, and their interconnections. You have knowledge of various tax types and their implications for business operations and reporting.
- You have a service- and solution-oriented attitude and drive to solve any challenges in great collaboration with the stakeholders.
- You have a positive, proactive enthusiastic, and inspiring attitude, as well as good interaction and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment and under pressure, but with strong support from team members.
- You are fluent in English and have great written communication skills.
