Coop Nord Ovest to Optimize Their Supply Chain for Better Efficiency and Availability with RELEX   

The Italian company Coop Nord Ovest improves inventory management and replenishment for more than 230 stores. 

Coop Consorzio Nord Ovest has started a collaboration with RELEX Solutions, a provider of supply chain and retail planning solutions, to optimize replenishment in its distribution centers (DCs). The pilot project initially involves warehouse management for the network of over 230 Coop-branded stores. The ultimate goal is to subsequently extend this optimization to the entire store network, aiming to ensure better availability of grocery and frozen products. 

The objective of Coop Consorzio Nord Ovest is to improve the warehouse-level replenishment process, based on specific company rules. This approach aims to enhance inventory management and streamline reordering activities, with potential benefits for the three associated cooperatives in terms of product availability and stock level optimization. Once the project is consolidated at the warehouse level, the plan is to extend the advantages of this optimization to the entire supply chain, down to individual stores.

Manual reordering processes pose significant problems for food retailers, including out-of-stock, overstocking and complexities due to variations in demand, schedules and delivery times. RELEX’s DC replenishment capabilities address these challenges by automating the reordering process, providing accurate order proposals and optimized inventory levels. This increases product availability, reduces inventory costs and improves planning efficiency.
