Hornbach Baumarkt, one of the leading DIY store operators in Germany, has selected RELEX Solutions, a provider of unified supply chain and retail planning solutions, to implement powerful forecasting and scheduling solutions for the Europe-wide branch network and in logistics centers. With this step, HORNBACH aims to further optimize the supply chain, expand product availability and effectively increase operational efficiency.
HORNBACH Baumarkt AG is active in nine European countries, including Germany, Austria and the Netherlands, and operates a total of 171 stores and 18 logistics centers. The range includes more than 50,000 stationary items and up to 290,000 items online from five product areas: from the right screw to plants and aquariums, there is everything a do-it-yourselfer could desire. Given the extensive product selection and the large number of suppliers, HORNBACH needs a system that guarantees a high level of automation, efficiency and traceability.
RELEX enables HORNBACH to make its supply chain more efficient, optimize supplier processes and maximize warehouse availability, which meets the company’s operational goals. Through comprehensive transparency and AI-controlled automation, HORNBACH can better control the diverse product range and ensure optimal inventory levels.
Within the RELEX platform for integrated supply chain and retail planning, HORNBACH will use supply chain diagnostics, weather-based forecasts, scenario planning and supply chain collaboration to be able to better shape the diverse challenges as an interconnected retailer in the future. By taking into account various factors such as historical sales data, promotions and weather conditions, HORNBACH will be able to forecast customer demand with even greater accuracy. Weather-based forecasting and scenario planning also allows the company to better anticipate fluctuations in demand and manage seasonal items more flexibly.
