Migross Selects RELEX Solutions to Unify Their Retail Chain Operations and Boost Efficiency

Migross SpA, a leading Italian grocery retail chain has selected RELEX Solutions, a provider of unified supply chain and retail planning solutions, to enhance its operations with advanced AI-driven capabilities. The RELEX space and assortment solution will be implemented to support Migross’ goals to reduce waste and support business growth. Athena Retail, a consulting company and system integrator specialized in category management processes and solutions, will be responsible for implementing this part of the project. Additionally, Migross will extend forecasting and replenishment to their four distribution centers (DCs).
Established in 1974, Migross has grown to become a leading grocery chain in Northern Italy, operating over 400 direct and affiliated stores across Veneto, Lombardy and Emilia Romagna. With a customer-centric strategy in place, Migross offers a wide assortment with thousands of SKUs, ensuring an excellent quality-to-price ratio. Committed to sustainability, Migross aims to minimize excess stock levels and reduce waste.
Migross faced challenges with siloed systems and sought an integrated solution for their supply chain. Following the successful store project implementation of forecasting and replenishment, the integration of space and assortment and DC forecasting and replenishment will enable Migross to unify their store operations, deliver a seamless experience for their customers, and boost sales.

Migross utilized a specific stand-alone solution for space planning, but this caused data silos and a lack of collaboration with other internal teams. They recognized the need to improve efficiency by streamlining processes. Integrating RELEX space and assortment will provide comprehensive insights into the entire operations, unifying siloed processes to enhance accuracy whilst addressing localized assortments and needs.
With data-driven insights, Migross can better understand the performance of individual merchandise categories and allocate the optimal amount of space for each product in store. By leveraging advanced floor plan analytics to evaluate and adjust category space, they can benefit from reduced waste and spoilage, whilst maximizing sales.
