Suomalainen Kirjakauppa, Finland’s largest nationwide bookstore chain, has expanded their use of RELEX Solutions, a provider of unified supply chain and retail planning solutions, by implementing CO2 Analytics functionality that automatically tracks and reports the CO2 emissions of purchased products and transportation. With this implementation, Suomalainen Kirjakauppa aims to utilize the data to support their environmental responsibility goals and reduce their environmental footprint.
Founded in 1912, Suomalainen Kirjakauppa offers a wide selection of books, office supplies, gifts, and craft supplies. As part of the Otava Group, one of Finland’s leading diversified media group, they are committed to monitoring and developing their environmental activities and have enacted various environmental responsibility measures. This includes calculating their carbon footprint and setting emission reduction targets based on these calculations.
RELEX CO2 Analytics offers comprehensive visualization and reporting features, allowing Suomalainen to monitor emissions at various levels, from individual products to the entire supply chain. With the tool in place, they can view and analyze CO2 emissions data, providing valuable insights for more sustainable assortment and supply chain planning. They can also identify key areas for improvement and implement targeted measures to reduce its carbon footprint.
