Swedish Discount Chain Dollarstore Selects RELEX Solutions to Improve Its Replenishment Ordering Process
Aug 29, 2017 • 2 minDollarstore, one of Sweden’s fastest growing discount chains, with 57 stores around the country, has chosen RELEX Solutions to help improve its supply chain processes. RELEX will provide Dollarstore with the tools it needs to automate its replenishment ordering process and free up time and resources to further develop its business and improve its customer experience.
Dollarstore’s business model is based around offering a wide range of affordable products coupled with excellent customer service. With over 48,000 unique items, and a continually refreshed assortment, Dollarstore needed a scalable system that can both deliver accurate demand forecasts and help them analyze and manage their fast-changing assortment. In addition, the company also needed help to plan for product launches and phase outs, especially before and during seasons and promotional campaigns.
Before partnering with RELEX, Dollarstore managed its replenishment ordering manually using a proprietary system integrated with its Visma ERP system. The company’s rapid growth made it essential for the company to develop a new automated replenishment process, something that the previous system could not support. “We expect that RELEX will be able to significantly reduce our manual workload and make the complete replenishment process more efficient,” says Jennie Ahlberg, Establishment Manager at Dollarstore. “With the help of RELEX, we want to change the focus from running a largely manual replenishment operation to taking an increasingly strategic approach with analysis and follow-up.”

Dollarstore began working with RELEX to develop and streamline processes throughout its supply chain. One of the company’s most important goals is to improve forecast accuracy to ensure that the right product is always in the right place and at the right time. By raising the level of automation, which allows for more careful management of exceptions, Dollarstore’s orders will be significantly more accurate in the future.
“We are excited to be working alongside our colleagues at Dollarstore and look forward to introducing an effective tool for optimizing processes throughout the supply chain,” says Joel Johansson, RELEX’s Project Lead. “Dollarstore is regularly opening new outlets and is in an exciting growth phase. We are incredibly proud to be able to be a part of their success story and to be deploying a comprehensive solution optimized for their specific supply chain planning needs.”
