Takko Fashion to Use RELEX Solutions to Optimize its Supply Chain
Nov 25, 2024 • 3 minEuropean fashion discounter relies on RELEX integrated platform to optimize forecasting, replenishment and inventory management to improve efficiency.
Takko Fashion, the leading European quality fashion discounter, has selected RELEX Solutions, leading provider of supply chain and retail planning solutions, to optimize its supply chain. Takko will implement RELEX’s forecasting and replenishment, allocation and markdown solutions to increase efficiency through an integrated platform.
Takko Fashion offers a wide range of fashionable collections and everyday basic wear at attractive prices for the whole family. With around 1,150 stores in Germany, as well as an online shop and a mobile app, Takko Fashion is one of Germany’s largest clothing retailers. Across Europe, the fashion retailer has almost 2,000 stores in 17 countries and employs around 18,000 employees.
Takko Fashion previously used an isolated allocation process that was distributed across various systems and spreadsheets, which did not rule out data gaps and meant a high level of complexity in control. With over 150 million items of clothing distributed annually through three of the fashion discounter’s logistics centers, an integrated system will unlock great potential. The new solution offers an integrated approach that optimizes inventory management, improves demand forecasting, ensures smooth distribution, and enables effective price reductions.
Managing size and color variations, as well as slow-moving items, resulted in complex processes and low scalability. With RELEX’s Forecasting and Allocation solution, Takko Fashion uses machine learning and advanced AI methods to increase forecasting accuracy and optimize product availability.
With RELEX, Takko Fashion gains a comprehensive overview of demand, captures trends and seasonality, and gains valuable insights. With the help of detailed demand data at the item level, specific patterns for each size and color can be identified, enabling more accurate forecasting and improved inventory control. Takko also benefits from RELEX’s channel planning capabilities to support its omnichannel strategy. The solution creates separate forecasts for the brick-and-mortar and online stores, taking into account specific factors and trends, and thus ensures optimal product availability without overstocking in both channels.
An automated, integrated distribution and control system enables Takko to seamlessly combine initial stocking and redistribution for efficient inventory allocation and optimized markdown planning. RELEX uses demand data at the transaction level to improve targeted inventory management, particularly for size and color variants. At the same time, the seasonal trend is closely monitored, remaining stock is detected early and avoided through dynamically adjusted markdowns. These features improve inventory management, increase automation and boost operational efficiency.
With our continued growth, we needed a system that could handle the complexity of our processes. The RELEX platform will enable us to effectively manage and quickly respond to market and demand developments, thus providing our customers with a better shopping experience. This way, we ensure that both our brick-and-mortar stores and our online shop have the items in stock in the color and size that are in demand,” said Peter Meinert, Director Merchandise Planning and Allocation at Takko Fashion.
“We are looking forward to working with Takko Fashion and helping them optimize their operations across the entire product supply chain. This is a significant step in optimizing Takko Fashion’s supply chain, maximizing the value of seasonal stock and improving operations. We look forward to achieving great results together,” said Michael Hoffmann, VP Sales, DACH, RELEX Solutions.
