Wolseley UK, the UK’s leading distributor of plumbing and building materials and products with 800 branches, chose RELEX’s space planning solution as part of its business strategy to serve better its customers and improve business efficiencies.
RELEX’s solution will allow Wolseley to create customer-focused planograms that can be easily understood at the store level, including changes from the previous planogram, and can be efficiently implemented. The RELEX micro-space planning solution will support better collaboration between Wolseley and its branch partners and help achieve more accurate merchandising across its 800 UK branches.
The analytics and customizable reporting within RELEX will enable Wolseley to better understand category and product performance helping to optimize its merchandising efficiency
RELEX’s solution will replace the company’s existing manual spreadsheet-driven approach, which was time consuming and produced an output that proved challenging for branches to interpret. With RELEX, Wolseley gains the ability to quickly create 3D planograms for any fixture in line with the visual merchandising strategy that can be recommended to its branch partners. In addition, the analytics and customizable reporting within RELEX will enable Wolseley to better understand category and product performance helping to optimize its merchandising efficiency, improve store compliance and ultimately ensure that the right product is in the right place with the right inventory levels.
Ultimately, it will increase our merchandising efficiency to be able to better tailor our customer experience
Ben Hills, Category Director at Wolseley UK comments: “The selection of the RELEX solution is an integral part of our wider program of transforming the way we serve our customers. The micro-space planning technology will help us increase our understanding of category and product performance, and improve collaboration between the head office and our branch partners. Ultimately, it will increase our merchandising efficiency to be able to better tailor our customer experience.”
Hills continues: “We chose RELEX over other providers because we were not only impressed with the flexibility of its system, but also with its collaborative approach and proven track record of building valuable customer partnerships.”
Ian Duncan-Lewis, Managing Director at RELEX adds: “Technology can be a true enabler of business transformation, and Wolseley’s clear strategic vision identified where within the organization technology can have the maximum benefit. We are looking forward to working closely with Wolseley to ensure our solution enables them to make optimal customer-centric merchandising decisions.”
